The Münchner Pyrotechnik-Symposium is a two-day professional conference on propellants and explosives, covering testing, application and regulatory aspects. It is hosted by CERTANIA Academy (GWP Academy) and takes place on 1–2 July 2026 in Parsdorf near Munich. Key topics include sensitivity testing of explosives, ballistic quality assurance for airbags, gas and particle emission measurement, and military applications. The symposium targets professionals from the automotive, airbag, aerospace, defense, quality assurance and energy sectors.
About the talk: Sensitivity testing determines how easily an explosive substance can be triggered into an unwanted reaction by external stimuli such as impact, friction, or electrostatic discharge. Standardized procedures such as the impact (fall hammer) and friction tests (e.g. per the BAM method, UN transport regulations, STANAG 4487/4489) produce the parameters that govern safe manufacturing, storage, transport, and handling. R+P MESPRO designs and builds the test equipment used for exactly these tests, giving it direct practical expertise in this subject.
